The Sony Playstation Network is the online for the consoles Playstation Portable and the Playstation 3.
Recently the network suffered a server hack which forced Sony to shut down the netwrok for atleast 3 and a half weeks.
This cause PS3 gamers agonyfor a long period of time. During this 3 weeks there were many speculations that many PSN accounts were hacked in order to access their bank account. This caused alot of the havoc.
Two weeks into the kack investigations there was alot of rumors that Sony have to decided to give PS3 and PSP users compensation for the inconvinience.
On May 15, Sony annouced that they were about to begin the restoration plan Thousand of tweets were running loose as excitement. At about 6 PM BST the restorating was complete. The PSN was back on and running but after 3 hours it went back down for maintanance because the network was experiencing 'traffic'.But of course came back on again.
PSN users were forced to change their password in order to avoid further hackage.
